July 4 2009 - Utah Celebrates Independence Day!

American Freedom Festival in Provo

The American Freedom Festival in Provo is one of the biggest celebrations in the Nation. There are many events leading up to July 4th, and the week of is filled with many patriotic events. The Freedom Festival culminates on the 4th of July with a huge parade, crafters set up on Main Street, and finishes with the Stadium of Fire!

Bring in Independence Day on Main St. in St. George! Activities for the event include: Flag Raising Ceremony, Games & Contests, Food Booths, Pedal Car Races, Sock Hop, Hula Hooping, Shopping and Restaurants, and entertainment from various groups throughout the day.

The celebration will be in Historic Downtown, main Street, St. George, UT July 4 2009 is not the only day to celebrate this summer in Utah!

Deer Valley® Music Festival

The Deer Valley® Music Festival is the Utah Symphony & Utah Opera's summer home in the mountain resort town of Park City, Utah. The 2009 Festival is its sixth season of providing chamber music, classical, opera, and pops offerings in four venues: the Deer Valley Snow Park Amphitheater, St. Mary's Church, Temple Har Shalom, and salons in private homes in the Park City area. The goal of the DVMF is to be renowned for consistently delivering a high quality and musically diverse experience in casual settings of unparalleled natural beauty.

July 4th Celebration in Centerville

7:00-9:00 am Breakfast at Founders Park: Enjoy breakfast and mingle with friends. Menu is pancakes, hash brown, scrambled eggs, ham, orange juice or milk. Prices are $3 for ages 10 and above, $2 for 9 and under.

7:00 am 30th Annual Freedom Run 5K & Children’s Run: The Freedom Run will be sponsored by the Rotary Club. Ages 13 and up run a 5K course. Children’s races start at 7:45 am; ages 10-12 run 1 mile, ages 7-9 run ½ mile, ages 6 and under run ¼ mile. There will be refreshments, t-shirts and prize drawings. The race will start behind the city offices. Pre-register at http://www.centervilleut.net/home.fun_run.html or at the city offices or with Dale Anderson at 801-721-9009. Entrance fee is $15 pre-registered or $18 the morning of the race. (3 or more from a family deduct $1 each.)

9:00 am Parade on Main Street: Make sure you’re there as jets fly overhead and floats, bands and clowns travel down Main Street! The parade begins at Chase Lane and ends at Pages Lane. Contact Shelley DaviesJohnson at 801-292-3320 for more information. Remember, no saving places along the parade route before 6:00 pm on July 3. Please, no water spraying during the parade.

10:00 am-3:00 pm Heritage Quilt Display: Come to Centerville Elementary to the Covered Courtyard and view and vote on you favorite quilt. Please register at http://www.centervilleut.net/home.4thjuly.html or contact Ann Casper at 801-292-9373. Please drop off entry forms at 1891 North 50 East, Centerville, before July 1st. Pickup quilt.

10:30 am-3:00pm Outdoor Festival and Entertainment: The Rotary Club will sponsor a silent auction booth. Booths will be open for purchase of food, treats and games. Contact Dale Anderson at 801-721-9009 for booth information.

1:00 pm Police Auction: Support our Police Department! Contact Allen Ackerson at 292-8441 for information. The auction will be held at the pavilion in Founders’ Park.
